For the past 23 years, Marshall Engineering Corporation has provided MEP services to higher education facilities, as well as, primary and secondary educational facilities. Our services to this industry include engineering and design, facilities assessment, studies/reports, cost estimating and construction management, for various projects. Our services in this industry are evidenced in the universities of Texas A&M University, Texas Southern University, Prairie View A&M University, University of Houston, Blinn College Houston Community College, and LongStar College, as well as, Houston ISD, Aldine ISD, Fort Bend ISD, Spring ISD, and Port Arthur ISD.

Prairie View University

MEC was awarded a three-year open-ended contract as Prime Firm by Prairie View University to complete projects as needed. The scope consisted of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) engineering and design, project management and all duties associated.

LOCATION: Prairie View, Texas

 

Texas State University

Jones Hall: Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) demolition and re-design for 15,500 SF dining hall and 5,000 SF kitchen. The facility also included a branded food concept area.

Bobcat Stadium Elevator: Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design and engineering for the installation of the President’s elevator at Bobcat Stadium. The scope also included the design of main power distribution from stadium source, lighting, fire alarm and support for elevator contractor.

Harris Hall Renovation: Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) modifications to the kitchen and dining center. The scope also included demolition and re-design.

Texas Southern University

New School of Public Affairs: Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) design and engineering for a 82,000 SF building complex that housed classrooms, laboratories, conference rooms, offices and an auditorium.

Sterling Student Center: Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design and engineering for the renovation of a 100,000 SF student center.

Blinn College

MEC completed the replacement of a 500-ton chiller within the Blinn College’s central plant. MEC has also completed projects for the installation of the Agricultural Shop building, Agricultural Classroom building, Agricultural Greenhouse building, band hall expansion and a 390 bed dormitory facility.

LOCATION: Brenham, Texas

Lone Star College System

MEC has completed mechanical design and engineering that included the air conditioning of the main mechanical room on the Tomball campus, the replacement of approximately 100 tons of air conditioning for the main administration building, the replacement of chilled water circulation pumps and the replacement of Air Handling units for the North Harris Campus. The scope also included the upgrading and installation of a computer room A/C unit and the re-design of the air conditioning and controls for the President’s conference room at the Tomball campus

University of Houston

Board of Regents:  The scope included a complete renovation of the Board of Regents offices within the Cullen Building. The renovation included mechanical revision, lighting upgrades, plumbing revisions and audio/visual improvements to the space.  Additional projects for the University of Houston included MEP design and engineering for the Fred Parks Dining Room, the upgrade of culinary classrooms within the campus Hilton Hotel, and the design of the University of Houston classrooms at the Texas Medical Center.

Houston Community College

Depelchen Development Center: Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design and engineering for the renovation of an 80,00 SF two-story building. The scope included MEP demolition and re-design of classrooms (Infant to Pre-K), gymnasium, library, study hall, storage rooms, restrooms, faculty offices, waiting areas, security office, full kitchen, conference room, computer lab and additional areas.

LOCATION: Houston, Texas

African American Library

MEC completed the MEP restoration of a school built in 1922 for predominately African-American students. The facility was a two-story approximately 22,000 SF building that contained special air conditioning systems for maintaining temperature and humidity levels for archival storage. The design team for the facility earned a LEED GOLD rating for the owner.

Frassati Catholic High School

Marshall Engineering Corporation (MEC) provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) engineering and design services for the construction of a 47,000 SF Fine Arts and Gymnasium Facility. The facility contained 2 gymnasiums, male and female shower and restroom area, a weight room and training room, locker rooms, an athletic office and conference room, a commercial kitchen, a visual arts center, choir/ instrumental, theater space, assembly hall, and related circulation and support spaces.

Carver High School

MEC provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) engineering and design for a 16,000 SF addition and a 10,000 SF renovation to the existing high school in Aldine ISD.

Sherman Elementary School

Marshall Engineering Corporation (MEC) provided MEP consulting and design for an 80,000 SF elementary school facility for Houston ISD. The project was designed to LEEDS certification requirements. Services also included project management.

Jamie’s Charter Lone Star School- Gymnasium

Marshall Engineering Corporation (MEC) provided MEP design and engineering for a 15,000 SF gymnasium including a weight room, spectator area, kitchen, changing rooms and related support facilities.
