PRESIDENT
Founder and CEO, Rayford R. Marshall, P.E. established Marshall Engineering Corporation (MEC) in 1996. Mr. Marshall graduated from Texas A&M as a distinguished graduate and was commissioned into the Air Force as 2nd Lieutenant. As a college student at Texas A & M University in the field of engineering, Mr. Marshall planned to own his own business after he acquired experience and capital to do so. With over 20 years experience and savings, the time came when there was a "crease" that was created in the domestic engineering services market due to the increased overseas activity. The increased margins available in the overseas market tended to drive the overall prices for engineering services up for the domestic customers. This was a time within the US economy when major companies began to "outsource" many components of their companies that did not relate to their core businesses. For example, the major oil companies began to outsource engineering and construction services since these services were ancillary to the primary business of providing energy. MEC was structured to fill that crease in the market by delivering quality services at prices that were targeted to be less than the prevailing market. Marshall Engineering Corporation was formed in this environment and in many ways; this environment has propelled the company forward.
